Jim Taylor
Who is this guy, and why do you care? Jim has been performing professionally since 1973. His music has been praised in such magazines as Dirty Linen, Record World, Billboard, and Bluegrass Unlimited. From 1976 to 1987, he and Gerry Stone led the Nashville-based Taylor & Stone Band, a six-piece country-rock outfit that toured throughout the United States and Europe, releasing 11 singles and two albums of original songs.
Since moving back home to Asheville, NC in 1988, Jim has performed solo, with The Forest Hill Band, with his bluegrass group, The Shady Oak Ramblers, with his "retro-folk" group, Simple Folk (See Simple Folk page) and he is now playing guitar and singing with Asheville's popular rock/jazz/swing band, Tuxedo Junction!
Jim has released four critically acclaimed solo CD's: Time Flies (1995), The Health Adventure (1998), Tell Me A Story (1999), and Momentum (2006). For Jim's rockier side, check out the Forest Hill Band's 1997 CD, Step On It. Most are available through CD Baby (see Shopping Cart page). Time Flies, Tell Me A Story, and Momentum are also available on Itunes.
